Individuals Therapy

What is Individual Therapy?

Individual therapy is a one-on-one space to work through emotional stress, life transitions, relationship patterns, self-esteem concerns, anxiety, depression, trauma responses, or feeling “off” without knowing why. It’s designed to help you understand what’s driving your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors—and to build tools that create real, sustainable change in day-to-day life.

The Will Within Therapy Group Approach

I use a goal-directed, supportive approach that often draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and skills-based strategies. We’ll identify unhelpful thought patterns, reduce emotional reactivity, strengthen coping skills, and build healthier routines and boundaries. Sessions are collaborative and paced to your comfort while staying focused on progress you can measure.

Areas of Focus

ADHD

Living with ADHD can affect focus, organization, motivation, emotional regulation, and daily functioning. It can also impact relationships, school, work performance, and self-esteem. Therapy for ADHD helps clients better understand how their mind works while building practical tools to improve attention, structure, and follow-through.

My approach to ADHD treatment focuses on helping clients recognize patterns, strengthen coping skills, and create realistic systems that support success. We work on impulsivity, emotional regulation, time management, and self-understanding so clients can feel more in control of their lives rather than controlled by their symptoms.

Grief Counseling

Grief can come from the loss of a loved one, a relationship, a life role, or even the loss of who you once were. It can affect emotions, concentration, sleep, motivation, and one’s overall sense of stability. Grief counseling provides a safe place to process loss honestly and at your own pace.

My approach to grief counseling is rooted in compassion, reflection, and emotional processing. I help clients explore the pain of loss while also finding ways to move forward without feeling like they have to forget what mattered to them. The goal is not to rush healing, but to help clients carry their grief in a healthier, more manageable way.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a specialized therapy designed to help people process trauma and distressing life experiences that continue to affect them in the present. Trauma can remain stored in the mind and body, leading to anxiety, triggers, intrusive thoughts, and emotional reactivity long after the event has passed.

My approach to EMDR helps clients safely process unresolved trauma so it no longer carries the same emotional weight. EMDR can be especially helpful for individuals struggling with PTSD, childhood trauma, painful memories, and deeply rooted emotional wounds. The goal is to help clients heal from what happened rather than continue feeling controlled by it.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a practical, evidence-based approach that helps individuals understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence one another. CBT is highly effective for concerns such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress, trauma-related symptoms, and unhealthy behavioral patterns.

My approach to CBT is direct, structured, and goal-oriented. I help clients identify distorted thinking, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and replace them with healthier and more balanced perspectives. CBT allows clients to gain concrete skills they can use outside of session to improve emotional regulation, decision-making, and overall well-being.
